(ENDED) Crochet So Lovely: 21 Carefree Lace Designs is an exquisite book that will have you falling in love with its designs. The author and designer, Kristin Omdahl brings forth some spectacular lace designs. Often times when I think of lace I envision vintage designs; however, these designs are far from vintage. The designs in this book are modern, stylish, versatile and functional.
This book is set up in a way that makes it easy for the crocheter to navigate with chapters specific to lace type and style. The pattern direction style is written is such a way that any crocheter looking to expand and build their skill set can easily to do so. Also, for the visual crocheter who can read diagrams better than written instructions, diagrams of the pattern are added.
I have to say that browsing through each pattern, there were several that jumped out at me making me want to add them to my WIP list. However, my favorite would have to be the Naida Medallion Cowl. I simply love cowls and the way it is made is intriguing to me. All the designs in this book will definitely appeal to you. There are shawls, cowls, sweaters and even some accessories to complete your wardrobe. Each piece is a beautiful and intricate piece of work that seems intimidating and challenging but certainly isn’t. Lace work is a gorgeous art from that will leave anyone admiring its intricacies.
It’s always so hard to pick my favorites, but I’ve narrowed it down to these four.
