Two women entrepreneurs have aligned to bring crochet fans, fiber artists, and craft enthusiasts to the next level in their crafting and business ventures.
Nicole Snow, president of Darn Good Yarn and Lorene Eppolite, owner/designer of Cre8tion Crochet, are combining forces and will be offering new and exciting experiences for the crochet and craft communities.
Currently Darn Good Yarn offers mostly knit patterns to their fans, as Nicole, who is a knitter, has designed many of them herself. There was a void to fill with crochet patterns using this amazing yarn and Cre8tion Crochet will now fill that void.
Nicole and Lorene are proud to announce that Cre8tion Crochet is now the “official crochet designer” for Darn Good Yarns.
Cre8tion Crochet and Darn Good Yarn are working together to bring special offers, exclusive deals and great packages together exclusively for their fans and customers. Lorene and Nicole have spoken in length along with the newest member of the Darn Good Yarn team, Maggie, to discuss their ideas and plans, and will be sharing them Thursday, July 11th, 2013 on Darn Good Live at 9:00pm. Tune in to Darn Good Yarn Live, simply log on to the Darn Good Yarn Facebook Page a few minutes to 9:00pm. They will post a link for you to join there.*
Lorene and Nicole had this to say about their new business collaboration:
This collaboration was the perfect fit for me. Nicole and I have many of the same views and philosophies when it comes to business and life in general. We both want to help other members of our communities to grow within themselves and be successful with their business’ with an emphasis on sustainable living and crafting. Collaborating with other artists and business owners in this field has helped me grow my business tremendously. I believe sharing the love and helping other people grow their business’ will only make me stronger and help my business grow as well. Karma is just as relevant in business as it is in life.” – Lorene, Owner/Designer of Cre8tion Crochet and Cre8tive Living
As independent artists and store owners, it is critical to learn to work together and find others who have similar goals to yours with complementary audiences. We have hundreds of amazing yarns but a ridiculously small collection of patterns”. Snow says that this in-part because she ran as a one-woman operation for years and like most of us, she simply did not have the time to get it all done. With Darn Good Yarn winning the first ever FedEx Small Business Grant Competition now Darn Good Yarn can collaborate with upcoming artists while bringing in many new lines of yarn. – Nicole Snow, Founder and Chief Strategy Officer of Darn Good Yarn

Darn Good Yarn was started by Nicole Snow, a US Air Force Veteran. After leaving the Air Force, she decided that she wanted to “unwind” with yarn. In early 2008, Nicole Snow decided to take two of her passions in life—art and helping others—and combine them. The result was “Darn Good Yarn” a yarn and fiber importer, wholesaler, and retailer.
The mission was simple: provide phenomenal quality fibers to enthusiasts, while helping the women of Nepal and India become autonomous and self-reliant.
Though they have grown exponentially the past few years, they have remained true to their roots. All of their yarns are handmade in small batches and undergo extensive quality control. The end result is yarn that is the flagship for “high quality yarns” in the industry!
