At The Bahamas Boho Flower

This super simple flower will add boho chiq charm to any finished item.  It is perfect for accessories.  These flowers have become a gorgeous bib necklace.  I will soon be sharing the tutorial with you.  The Boho Chic flower features At The Bahamas Recycled Silk Sari Ribbon from Darn Good Yarn.  You could substitute any of the recycled sari ribbon yarn selections from DGY.

These Flowers would make awesome brooches or hair accessories too!

Abbreviations and Stitches Used:

ch– chain

st– stitch

sp– space

sl st– slip stitch
insert hook into stitch or space, yarn over and pull through stitch, (two loops on hook), pull loop closest to hook through other loop

sc– single crochet
insert hook into stitch or space, yarn over and pull through stitch (two loops on hook), yarn over and pull through both loops on hook

hdc– half double crochet
yarn over, insert hook into stitch or space, yarn over and pull through stitch (three loops on hook), yarn over, pull through all three loops

Notes:
Be sure to use loose tension when making your chain.

Materials:
At the Bahamas Recycled Silk Sari Ribbon Yarn
9.0mm (N) hook
embroidery needle

Large

  1. Loosely ch 19
  2. 1sc and 2hdc in the 2nd ch from hook
  3. [sl st into the next ch.  4hdc in the next ch] 3x
  4. [sl st into the next ch.  1hdc.  2dc.  1hdc in the next ch] repeat to end
  5. sl st to fasten off. tie tails together to secure.
  6. cut tails.  wrap to create flower and stitch closed
  7. attach to finished piece using yarn

Medium

  1. Loosely ch 15
  2. 1sc and 2hdc in the 2nd ch from hook
  3. *sl st into the next st. 4hdc in the next st
  4. repeat from * to end
  5. sl st to fasten off.  tie tails together to secure.
  6. cut tails.  wrap to create flower and stitch closed
  7. attach to finished piece using yarn

Small

  1. Loosely ch 9
  2. 1sc and 2hdc in the 2nd ch from hook
  3. *sl st into the next st. 4hdc in the next st
  4. repeat from * to end
  5. sl st to fasten off. tie tails together to secure.
