This fat bottom bag uses a chevron stripe in an unusual way, instead of the traditional horizontal stripes, I have emphasized the chevron in a vertical pattern.
The change up of chevrons along with the “pop of pink” make this bag a unique and fun way to add punch to your wardrobe.

FDC– foundation double crochet- Tutorial HERE
Chain 3 (counts as 1st fdc). Yarn over and insert hook in 3rd chain from hook. *Yarn over and pull up loop (3 loops on hook), yarn over and pull through 1 loop creating a sl st, (this is an important step but easy to forget). Yarn over again and pull through first two loops on hook (two loops remaining). Yarn over again and pull through last two loops on hook. This completes the second fdc (remember your 1st ch3 counted as the 1st fdc). To stitch the next fdc, yarn over and insert the hook into the sl st made in the 2nd fdc and repeat from *
FSC– foundation single crochet
ch2. Insert hook in 1st ch *yarn over and pull up loop (2 loops on hook), yarn over and pull through 1 loop, creating a sl st, (this is an important step but easy to forget). Chevron Body
Row 1: Starting with first color; FDC 51
Row 2: Ch3 and turn. 1dc in the same st. *1dc in each of the next 3sts. DC3tog. 1dc in each of the next 3sts. 3dc in the next st. Repeat from * until last st from end. 2dc in the last st (ch3 from previous row)
Row 3-26: Change color; Repeat Row (2) two times. Continue to change color every two rows, and repeat Row 2 (pop of pink or your choice of color can be placed anywhere you like. I placed mine at rows 19&20)
Finishing and Straps
Round 1: Ch1 and 1sc in the same sp. Working around entire square; *2sc at the end of each dc row. Turn for next edge. 2sc in first st. 1sc in every st across. 2sc in the last st. Repeat from * around. This will give you 52sts on each side. Sl st into first sc to join. <208>
Round 2: Ch1 and 1sc in the same sp. 1sc in the next st. SC2tog. *1sc in each of the next 2sts. SC2tog. Repeat from * around. Sl st into first sc to join. <156>

Round 6: Ch1 and 1sc in the same sp. 1sc in each of the next 20sts. DC3tog 2x. 1sc in each of the next 21sts. Dec3tog 2x. Sl st into the first sc to join. <46>
Round 7: Ch1 and 1sc in the same sp. 1sc in each of the next 3sts. *Working off of the last sc; FSC 50. Skip 13sts.** 1sc in each of the next 10sts. Repeat from * to **. 1sc in each of the remaining 6sts. Sl st into the first sc to join. <2 straps of 50sc with 10sts on either side- 13 skipped sts under each strap>
Round 8: Ch1 and 1sc in the same sp. 1sc in every st around. Fasten off. <120>
Round 9: Attach yarn to inside of strap. 1sc in every st around. <65>. Repeat for other strap. Fasten off and weave in all ends.
