Emma Trifecta Cowl
I hope you enjoy this bulky, warm, fashion friendly cowl! This one is very versatile and can be worn at least three ways.

225 Yards Bulky weight yarn, such as Lion Brand Woolspun
MATERIALS
Hook size K (6.5mm)
Yarn Needle
3 – 1.25” buttons

STITCH GUIDE
ch(s) – chain(s), sl st – slip stitch, sc – single crochet, hdc – half double crochet, st(s) – stitch(es), hdcherr – half double crochet herringbone
NOTE
- Ch 1 does not count as a stitch
- hdcherr – yo, insert hook into st, yo and pull through st and first loop on hook, yo pull through both loops on hook
PATTERN
ch 8
Row 1: hdc in second ch from hook, hdc in each ch across. <7 sts>
NOTE: You will be working in the backridge/third loop of each stitch for Row 2-66.
Row 2-Row 66: ch 1, turn, hdc in each backridge/third loop across. <7 sts>
Ch 1, sl st short ends together.
Row count starting over here and working in the sides of the hdc from rows above.
Row 1: ch 1, hdc in the side of each hdc around, join with a sl st in the first hdc. <66 sts>
Row 2: ch 1, hdcherr in backridge/third loop of next 6 sts, hdcherr in both loops of the remaining sts around and in each of the free loops from the first 6 hdc of the row. <72 sts>
Row 3: ch 1, turn, hdcherr in each st. <72 sts>
Row 4: ch 1, turn, hdcherr in next 2, ch 2, sk next 2, hdcherr in remaining sts. <70 sts, 2 chs>
Row 5: ch 1, turn, hdcherr in next 68, 2 hdcherr in ch-2 sp, hdcherr in last 2 sts. <72 sts>
Row 6-7: ch 1, turn, hdcherr in each st across. <72 sts>
Row 8-11: rep Rows 4-7
Row 12-14: rep Rows 4-6
Finish off
Attach yarn to side of hdcherr from beginning of Row 2. Ch 1, sc evenly up the side, (sc, ch1, sc) in corner, sc in each st across, (sc, ch1, sc) in corner, sc evenly down other side.
FINISHING
Adding buttons – sew buttons to cowl on flap without buttonholes.
