ch(s) – chain(s), sc – single crochet, dc – double crochet, sl – slip st
PATTERN
Chain 47
Starting at bottom, working towards the top.
Row 1: sc in 2nd chain from hook, dc in next chain. *sc in next ch, dc in next chain* repeat across <23 sc, 23 dc, 46 sts>
Row 2 – 36: Turn, Ch 1, sc in first st, dc in next st. *sc in next st, dc in next st* repeat across <23 sc, 23 dc, 46 sts>
Rotate to work into row ends.
Row 1: sc into ea row end <36 sc>
Row 2-9: Turn, Ch 1, sc in first st, dc in next st. *sc in next st, dc in next st* repeat across <18 sc, 18 dc, 36 sts>
Row 10: Turn, Ch1, sc in first st, dc in next st. *sc in next st, dc in next st* repeat 8 more times, sc in next st, ch 3, skip next 3 sts, *sc in next st, dc in next st* repeat 5 more times. <33 sts, 3 chs for buttonhole>
Row 11: Turn, Ch 1, sc in first st, dc in next st. *sc in next st, dc in next st* repeat across working 3 stitches in the ch 3 sp. <18 sc, 18 dc, 36 sts>
Row 12 – 13: Turn, Ch 1, sc in first st, dc in next st. *sc in next st, dc in next st* repeat across <18 sc, 18 dc, 36 sts>
Finish Off.
Attach yarn to the opposite side, starting at the bottom, working into the row ends:
Row 1: sc into ea row end <36 sc>
Row 2-12: Turn, Ch 1, sc in first st, dc in next st. *sc in next st, dc in next st* repeat across <18 sc, 18 dc, 36 sts>
Rotate to work
Sc evenly around entire scarf, working 2 sc into ea corner. Fasten off.
FINISHING
Weave in all ends.
Line up button with button hole and sew on securely.
