 Spring Fan Barefoot Sandals free crochet pattern.

YARN
Aunt Lydia’s Size 5 Crochet thread (sample in metallic silver)

MATERIALS
B (2.25 mm) hook
Yarn needle
Scissors

DIFFICULTY
Intermediate

2 completed motifs is 1.5″ x 1″ at widest part

STITCH GUIDE

ch(s) – chain(s), slst – slip stitch, sc – single crochet, dc – double crochet, st(s) – stitch(es),  ldcp- long double crochet puff

 SPECIAL STITCHES  

ldcp– Long Double crochet puff- (YO, pull up long loop even with height of previous chain in indicated stitch) 3 times, yo and pull through all loops, ch1 to close stitch.

 NOTES

  • Magic Circle will not work for this pattern.


PATTERN

Ch5, join.

R1: Ch2, 7 ldcp in loop. Ch1, turn. <7 ldcp>

R2: sc between 1st and 2nd ldcp, ch20, sc in same space (this will be the toe loop), (sc, ch3, sc) between each ldcp to end, sc between last ldcp and beg ch from previous row. Ch1, turn. <6 ch3 lps>

1st motif complete

R3: sc in first sc, ch5, (sk sc, ch3), sc between next 2 sc. Ch3, turn. <1 ch5 loop>

R4: 7 ldcp in ch5 loop. Ch1, turn. <7ldcp>

R5: (sc, ch3, sc) between each ldcp, sc between last ldcp and beg ch from previous row. Ch1, turn. <6 ch3 lps>

2nd motif complete

R6: sc in first sc, ch5, (sk sc, ch3), sc between next 2 sc (between sc, ch3, sc loop). Ch3, turn. <1 ch5 loop>

R7: 7 ldcp in ch5 loop, sc between the 4th and 5th (sc, ch3, sc) groups of the motif below (Motif 3 will join to 1, Motif 4 to 2, Motif 5 to 3 and Motif 6 to 4 respectively), ch1 turn. <7ldcp>

R8: (sc, ch3, sc) between each ldcp, sc between last ldcp and beg ch from previous row. Ch1, turn. <6 ch3 lps>

3rd and 4th motif

Repeat R6 to R8 2 times for a total of 4 motifs.

When finished with the 4th motif, do not turn. ch101, turn. Slst in 2nd ch from hook and the next 99 chs. Slst in sc. Ch101, turn. Slst in 2nd ch from hook, and next 99 chs. Slst on top of previous slst in sc. Leaving a long tail to weave end securely, fasten off.

 FINISHING

Weave in ends. Slip the toe loop around your second toe and use long tails to tie around ankle in a decorative fashion.
