STITCH GUIDE

beg – beginning, ch(s) – chain(s), sc – single crochet, RS – right side, WS – wrong side, rsc – reverse single crochet, hk – hook

SPECIAL STITCHES

rsc – reverse single crochet
Ch 1, working from left to right, sk first st, insert hook from front to back in next st to the right (A), yo, pull lp through st (B), yo, pull through 2 lps on hook (C).

NOTES

  • The front and back are made separately, and rsc together.
  • The front panel will be written out in this form: sc CA#,CB#,CA#. This means to single crochet in Color A for the indicated number of stitches, switch to Color B and sc for the indicated number of sts, switch to Color A and sc for the indicated number of sts.
  • Every row is in sc. Change colors in the last step of the last sc of the current color.

R7: sc CA7, CB9, CA7
R8: sc CA6, CB11, CA6 ´
R9: sc CA5, CB13, CA5
R10: sc CA4, CB15, CA4
R11: sc CA3, CB17, CA3
R12: sc CA3, CB17, CA3
R13: sc CA3, CB17, CA3

Back Panel using Color B:
Ch24
R1: sc in 2nd ch from hook and across.
R2: ch1, sc across.
R3-R36: Repeat R2.
At end of 36, do not turn. Ch1, rotate 90 degrees and sc evenly down long side, across bottom, and up other long side, placing 2 sc in each bottom corner st.

Do not fasten off.

FINISHING

With WS together, ch1 and RSC through both thicknesses down the long side, across bottom, and up the other long side. If you choose, RSC around the top edge of the back and and then the front. Be sure NOT to join the opening! Finish off and weave in ends.
