Crochet Hood with Cables and Fur

Whip up this fun, on trend, crochet hood in before the weather gets too cold. Use your favorite neutrals to wear with all of your outerwear, or go bright for a fun pop of color.

YARN
1 ball Lion Brand Romance or 27 yards of your favorite fur or eyelash yarn
2 balls Lion Brand Wool – Ease or 220 yards of your favorite light worsted weight yarn

MATERIALS
6.0mm J hook
4 Stitch Markers
1 Button – 2”

DIFFICULTY
Intermediate

SIZE(S)
One Size fits most

GAUGE
14 sts x 12 rows in hdc = 4”

STITCH GUIDE
ch(s) – chain(s), hdc -half double crochet, hdc dec – half double crochet decrease, st – stitch, fptr – front post treble crochet, fpdtr – front post double treble crochet, sl st – slip stitch

NOTES

  • Working with fur yarn takes patience, but it is also very forgiving. It can hide small imperfections. Push the fur to the side or the back to locate the stitches. Make sure to count your stitches as you work.
