SPECIAL STITCHES
fdc- foundation double crochet
Chain 4 (counts as the first fdc). Yarn over and insert hook in 4th chain from hook. *Yarn over and pull up loop (3 loops on hook), yarn over and pull through 1 loop creating a chain st, (this is an important step but easy to forget). Yarn over again and pull through first two loops on hook (two loops remaining). Yarn over again and pull through last two loops on hook. Row 2: Ch3. Turn. 1dc in the first st. 1dc in each of the next 21 (25, 29) sts. 2dc in the next st. <25 (29, 33)>
Row 3: Ch3. Turn. [1dc. Ch2. 2dc] in the first st. *Skip 3 sts. Ch1. [2dc. Ch2. 2dc] in the next st. Repeat from * to end. <7 (8, 9) shells> (see pic below)
Row 4: Turn. Sl st into each of the next 2dcs and then into the first Ch2 sp. [Ch3. 1dc. Ch2. 2dc] in the same Ch2 sp. *Ch1. 1dc in the next Ch1 sp (between shells). Ch1. [2dc. Ch2. 2dc] in the next Ch2 sp. Repeat from * to end. <7 (8, 9) shells and 6 (7, 8) dcs)>

Rows 7-9: Repeat row 6.
FINISHING
- Fasten off and weave in ends.
- Lay capelet flat with “tab” on the left.
- Attach button to the 3rd dc in from the right
