The Dancing Aspen Beanie is a comfy, 2 layered hat that is bound to keep your little one’s head warm this winter! The base hat provides a nice fit while the top layer adds a interesting overlay with the bottom layering peaking through it.

 

The Dancing Aspen Beanie has a unique and interesting design with its two layers. It'll keep your little one's head warm while adding an interesting look.

YARN

  • Worsted Weight #4

MATERIALS

  • 120 yards worsted weight yarn in 2 or more colors GREAT SALE ON REDHEART HERE
  • I hook (5.5 mm)
  • J hook (6 mm)
  • Measuring tape
  • Yarn needle
  • Scissors
  • Pom pom maker (optional)

DIFFICULTY
Easy

FINISHED SIZE
3-6 months (15-16 inch head circumference)

GAUGE
14 sc x 16 rows = 4 inches

STITCH GUIDE
YO – yarn over; ch – chain; st – stitch; sk – skip; sc – single crochet; sc dec – single crochet decrease; fsc – foundation single crochet; spike hdc – spike half double crochet; hdc dec – half double crochet decrease; dc – double crochet; CL – cluster; BLO – back loop only

SPECIAL STITCHES
Cluster – (YO. Insert hook in specified st and draw up a loop. YO and draw through 2 loops on hook) x4 YO and draw through all 5 loops.

Spike hdc – Half double crochet in the indicated row.
