Reign Shawl
A free crochet shawl pattern
This free crochet shawl pattern uses simple stitches paired with Red Heart Ombre for an awesome gradient look. The large shell border adds a whimsical feel. Best of all, this shawl can be made with just one skein of yarn.

Embroidery needle for weaving in ends

PATTERN
Row 1 (RS): Ch 4, 6dc in 4th ch from hook, mark center (4th) dc (7 dc).
Row 2: Ch3 and turn, [dc, ch2, dc] in first dc, dc in the next 2-dc, [dc, ch2, dc] in the marked dc (mark ch-2), dc in the next 2-dc, [dc, ch2, 2dc] in the last dc (12 dc).
Row 3: Ch3 and turn, dc in first dc, dc in next dc, 2dc in first ch-2, dc in each dc to next ch-2, 3dc in marked ch-2 (mark center/2nd dc), dc in each dc to last ch-2, 2dc in ch-2, dc in next dc, 2dc in last dc (21 dc).
Row 4: Ch3 and turn, [dc, ch2, dc] in first dc, dc in each dc to marked dc, [dc, ch2, dc] in marked dc (mark ch-2), dc in each dc till one dc remains, [dc, ch2, 2dc] in last dc (each row will add 5 dc).
Row 5: Ch3 and turn, dc in first dc, dc in next dc, 2dc in first ch-2, dc in each dc to next ch-2, 3dc in marked ch-2 (mark center/2nd dc), dc in each dc to last ch-2, 2dc in ch-2, dc in next dc, 2dc in last dc (each row will add 9 dc).
Rows 6-9: Repeat rows 4 & 5 consecutively two times.
Row 10: Ch3 and turn, [dc, ch2, dc] in first dc, *skip 2-dc, [dc, ch2, dc] in next dc, repeat from * to 4-dc before marked dc, dc in dc before marked dc, ch2, [dc, ch2, dc] in marked dc (mark ch-2), ch2, dc in next dc, ** skip 2-dc, [dc, ch2, dc] in next dc, repeat from ** until 3-dc remain, skip 2dcs, [dc, ch2, 2dc] in last dc (46 dc).

Row 26: Ch1 and turn, sc in first sc, *ch 7, skip 5-dc, sc in next dc, repeat from * until 3dc before marked dc, ch3 (mark this ch-3), [2dc, ch3, 2dc] in marked dc, ch3, skip 3dc, sc next dc, **ch7, skip 5-dc, sc next dc, repeat from ** to end
