I recently got a chance to try out a great new product for my crochet. When I received this Athena’s Elements Yarn Storage Organizer for knitting and crochet, I was immediately drawn to the colorful geometric designs that decorate all 3 bags. This yarn organizer has all that you need, and a bit more. The organizer also comes in a solid blue for those who want a bag that is more subdued.
There are 3 bags of different sizes that all have their own unique function. The biggest bag of the three, the Yarn Tote, has several uses, the best thing being how big and deep it is. It can easily hold even a large crochet project like an afghan. You can fold the blanket neatly and lay your working yarn on top. The organizer even has a front pocket to store your hooks and other notions.
Another wonderful use for the Yarn Tote is the ability to work with at least four different skeins at a time if your project involves color changes. With how deep the Yarn Tote is, you can place your skeins in an upright position, and pull the yarn through the 4 convenient holes at the top of the Yarn Tote. Now, these holes also have slits in them making it convenient to add a 5th or 6th skein.
The medium sized Yarn Storage Organizer bag is great for storing any other items you have that you’d like to carry with you, such as extra notions or thinner hooks that could slip out of the hook holder in the front of the Yarn Tote. It also doubles as a holder for an extra skein of yarn, or several small balls or yarn cakes. This medium sized tote has a clip that conveniently attaches to the Yarn Tote.
The Yarn Storage Organizer also comes with two smaller bags. The smallest one also has a small hole at the top making it convenient for small balls of yarn or small yarn cakes. The smallest bag will keep your yarn from rolling around and getting lost while you crochet.
Perhaps, one of the best things of this tote is the material it’s made out of. It’s sturdy but not too tough with material that looks splash resistant. It’s collapsible for easily storing when you’re not using it. Now, the inside is fantastic. The material that’s used to line the inside of the bag prevents the yarn from pilling due to any yarn friction.
I also got to try out both of Athena’s Elements scissor sets. I really love these little scissors, and I’ll be using these for years to come.
This is a wonderful set that will be a great addition to have in your yarn arsenal, and great for traveling.
