Winter Skies
a free ear warmer crochet pattern by Cre8tion Crochet

This super quick, and super easy ear warmer only uses half a skein of yarn.  This simple design would be a great addition to your fall and winter wardrobe.  The Winter Skies Ear Warmer would also do great at craft fairs.  This pattern comes in child, adult small and adult large sizes.

Mary Maxim Aran Chunky– 50 yards

MATERIALS
Furls 10.0mm/P hook in your choice of style
-I used my Furls Alpha Series, be sure to check out our super affordable new Streamline hooks

DIFFICULTY
Easy

FINISHED SIZE
19 (21, 22)” long by 4” wide

GAUGE
(In pattern)
7sts and 8 rows = 4”

STITCH GUIDE

ch(s) – chain(s), sc – single crochet, dc – double crochet, st(s) – stitch(es),  BLO – back loop only, RS – right side, WS – wrong side, sl st – slip stitch

NOTES

  • Pattern is written in child size with adult small and adult large sizes in parenthesis
  • Ch 1, does not count as st

 

PATTERN

Row 1:  Ch 39, (43, 45)

Row 2 (RS):  Turn, sc next 5 sts, *skip one st, [sc & dc] in next st, repeat from * 13, (15, 16) x more, skip one st, sc remaining 4 sts—35 (39, 41) sts (st count remains the same for entirety of pattern).

Row 3:  Ch 1, turn, sc next 4 sts, *skip next st, [sc & dc] in next st, repeat from * 13, (15, 16) x more, leave remaining 5 sts unworked.

 Row 4:  Ch 1, turn, *skip next st, [sc & dc] in next st, repeat from * 13, (15, 16) x more, leave remaining 4 sts unworked.

Row 5:  Ch 1, turn, *skip next st, (sc & dc] in next st, repeat from * 13, (15, 16) x more, sc2tog beginning in st just worked and ending in first unworked st from Row 3, sc remaining 4 sts.

Row 6:  Ch 1, turn, sc next 2 sts, ch 1, skip one st, sc next 2 sts, *skip next st, [sc & dc] next st, repeat from * 13, (15, 16) x more, sc2tog beginning in st just worked and ending in first unworked st from Row 4, sc remaining 3 sts.

Row 7:  Ch 1, turn, sc next 4 sts, *skip next st, [sc & dc] next st, repeat from * 13, (15, 16) x more, sc remaining 5 sts.

 Row 8:  Ch 1, turn, sc next 5 sts, *skip next st, [sc & dc] next st, repeat from * 13, (15, 16) x more, sc remaining 4 sts, fasten off.

FINISHING

Attach button to center of this end, to correspond with the button hole on opposite side.  Weave in all ends
