Everyday, I Crochet!
Crochet is a part of my everyday life. Sometimes I can’t sleep for dreaming of it all night long… fixing crocheting problems in my head, thinking about my next free pattern or what my next blog post will be… and of course how it is gonna pay the bills.
While crochet is a hobby it is also how I make a living. I sell my items to friends and family, through my facebook and Etsy pages, on Copious and even in a couple small boutiques. Now I blog about it crocheting and share my free patterns for an added source of income too.
I’m going in so many directions that my head is spinning, and this is the hard part of owning your own stay at home business. Staying organized! I came across this great blog post from fellow hooker and work at home blogger on Yarn Obsession.

Here she shares helpful hints on how to keep yourself organized and run your stay at home business efficiently.
So my next step is going to be writing out my business plan… where I want to go and how I want to get there. I suggest that anyone who is seriously considering making a business out of their hobby does this. If you want to be successful you need to run it the same way you would run any business.
And I need to write out a schedule. When I will work on what projects and have deadlines. Right now I just do what I feel like when I feel like, and while this is one of the perks of owing your own stay at home business, it isn’t always the most productive.
There are so many things to take into consideration and it needs to be flexible, especially when you have children. My almost two year old doesn’t care that I need to get a pattern posted or make 20 scarves by next week. I will have built in “wiggle room” so that I can play with my daughter when she wants or take her to the park if its a nice day.
I’m so happy to be on this journey, finally. Its where I’ve always wanted to be. Now to make it work!
