YARN
Worsted (#4) weight. Less than 1 yard

MATERIALS
C/2 (2.5 mm) hook
tapestry needle
scissors
tape measure

DIFFICULTY
Beginner

SIZE(S)
One size (use smaller hook or lighter weight yarn for smaller size, use larger hook for larger size)

GAUGE
6 FSC= 1”

STITCH GUIDE
ch(s) – chain(s), sc – single crochet, dc – double crochet, st(s) – stitch(es), sl st – slip stitch

SPECIAL STITCHES

FSC – Foundation Single Crochet: find tutorial here
Ch2.  Insert hook in 1st ch *yarn over and pull up loop (2 loops on hook), yarn over and pull through 1 loop, creating a chain,  (this is an important step but easy to forget).  Yarn over again and pull through two remaining loops on hook.  This completes the first fsc.  To stitch the next fsc insert the hook into the chain made in the 1st fsc and repeat from *

PATTERNS

Single Band Ring

Single Band Ring
Row 1: 15 FSC (approximately 2 ¼” long), join w/sl st OR invisible join (see tutorial link above) to form ring, fasten off and weave in ends. <see pic A>

X ring

‘X’ Band Ring
Row 1: 15 FSC (approximately 2 ¼” long)

Row 2: ch16, turn <see pic B>, sc in 2nd st from hook and in next six sts <see pic C>, fold piece in half by overlapping R1 and R2 in an ‘X’ <see pic D>, sl st through R1 AND R2 where they intersect (through the 8th FSC in R1 and in the NEXT st in R2) <see pics E & F>, sc in last seven sts of R2 chain <see pic G>

Finishing: Bring the ‘closed’ end (looks like a loop) and the ‘open’ end (two unattached pieces on other end) together with WRONG side facing out, ch1, sl st 4 sts evenly across through BOTH layers (closed end and open end) to form a ring, fasten off and weave in ends. <see pic H>

Row 1: 15 FSC (approximately 2 ¼” long)

Row 2: ch2, turn, skip base of turning chain AND next st, dc in next st, *ch1, dc in same st as previous dc, skip next TWO sts, dc in next st*, repeat from *-* to end, ch1, dc in same st as previous dc

Row 3: (work ALL sl sts in this row LOOSELY, turning chain does NOT count) ch1, turn, *sl st in next st, sl st in ch1 SPACE, sl st in next st*, repeat from *-* to end, dc in SPACE of R2 turning chain <see pic I>

Finishing: ch1, bring short ends together with WRONG sides facing out, sl st 4 sts evenly across through BOTH layers to form a ring, fasten off and weave in ends <see pic J>
