FHDC– foundation half double crochet
Chain 2 (counts as 1st fhdc). Yarn over and insert hook in 2nd chain from hook. *Yarn over and pull up loop (3 loops on hook), yarn over and pull through 1 loop creating a sl st, (this is an important step but easy to forget). Yarn over again and pull through all three loops on hook. This completes the second fhdc (remember your 1st ch2 counted as the 1st fdc). To stitch the next fhdc, yarn over and insert the hook into the sl st made in the 2nd fhdc and repeat from *

- These items are for use as a photo prop ONLY. Use only with supervision. Do not leave child unattended for any amount of time while wearing these photo props.
- Ch3 counts as first dc
- Last st of each row will be placed in the Ch3 from previous row
- For best results you can starch the wings to make stiff
Row 1: Ch4. [2dc. Ch1. 3dc] in 3rd ch from hook

Row 3-5: Ch3 and turn. 1dc in the same st. SH in each of the next 2 Ch-1 sps. 2dc in the last dc.
Row 6: Ch3 and turn. 1dc in the same st. Inc SH in each of the next Ch-1 spcs. 2dc in the last dc.
Rows 7-9: Ch3 and turn. 1dc in the same st. SH in each of the next 4 Ch-1 sps. 2dc in the last dc.

Row 12: Ch4 and turn. 1sl st in the same st. *Skip next st. Sl st into the next st. Ch4 and sl st into the same st. Repeat from * to end (skip 2sts on last repeat to make even). Fasten off and weave in ends.
Stitch tops of wings together using a slip, whip or mattress stitch.
Block finish (or starch) as desired. I did not block or starch mine and they worked great.
Round 1: FHDC 56. Join together to form ring. (you can make this any size you need by starting with a FHDC in multiples of 4)
Round 2: Ch3 and 4hdc in the same st. *Skip 3sts. 5hdc in the same st. Repeat from * to end. Sl st into the top of the Ch3. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Round3: Attach yarn on opposite side of hdc band and repeat row 2, matching up clusters.
