Leg warmers are the perfect addition to any fall or winter outfit. These super simple leg warmers will keep your little ones, or even yourself, fashionably toasty!
This pattern is called Birthday Leg Warmers because I originally created them to be worn by my daughter on her first birthday, to match her pretty little dress.
This pattern is written for baby leg warmers but can easily be made for any size, simply add or decrease the amount of stitches in the beginning chain to the circumference of the ankle for whom its being made. The sample shown is on my one year old.

BABY PATTERN
FSC 24 (or whatever the circumference of the ankle is plus 3-4 stitches more). Join together with sl st. (be sure good side is facing out)
Rows 2-6: Ch1, skip next stitch, sc in remaining stitches, stitch last sc in the space where you skipped at beginning of row, join together with sl st. Repeat until row 6 (or however long you want the ankle band to be)
Rows 7-18: Ch1, skip next stitch, hdc in remaining stitches, stitch last hdc in the space where you skipped at beginning of row, join together with sl st. Repeat until row 18 (or for however long you want the body of the leg warmer to be)
Rows 19-24: Ch1, skip next stitch, sc in remaining stitches, stitch last sc in the space where you skipped at beginning of row, join together with sl st. Repeat until row 24 (or for however long you want calf band to be). Fasten off, and sew in tail.
Complete by sewing in tail at the beginning of your work.
I did one color for the ankle and calf bands/cuffs and alternated colors (2 rows of each) for the body of the warmer.
ADULT PATTERN
Follow same directions but start with 30 (or more) stitches and do 12 rows of sc for ankle band, 18 rows of dc for body, and 5 rows of sc for calf band.
