Zane’s Beanie- a Crochet Preemie Hat
Free Pattern includes Newborn Sizing
15 years ago, I had my first born son, 11 weeks early. I am happy to say he is now very healthy and happy, but when he was born it was a very scary time. None of the hats I had purchased in preparation for his birth fit him. It was nearly impossible to find anything in a store.
I designed this crochet preemie hat for the NICU Crochet Challenge, hosted by Bonnie of Sunset Crochet. When Bonnie approached me about donating a crochet preemie hat, I immediately said yes.
This unisex crochet preemie hat is quick to make and very easy to work up. It is the perfect size for a premature infant. I have also included directions for full term newborns. Leave plain for a boy or add a pretty flower for a tiny baby girl.
