Pixie Blossom Comb free crochet pattern

YARN
Red Heart Sizzle Nylon #2 Thread – 1 skein of each color desired

MATERIAL
Size B crochet hook, scissors, metal needle, hair comb

DIFFICULTY
Intermediate

SIZE(S)
One Size

GAUGE
Unimportant – 10 chains = 1″

STITCH GUIDE

ch(s) – chain(s), sc – single crochet, dc – double crochet, st(s) – stitch(es),

NOTES

  • Be careful not to break the teeth of the comb with your hook. If need be, bring your yarn up through the teeth TO the hook. Do this with the RIGHT side of the comb facing you and your hook in front. bring the yarn up from behind the comb from the wrong side, in between the teeth, over your hook, and back through the teeth, then complete sc as usual.
  • For all number of teeth, Join Yarn in between first two teeth of hair comb

  • Directions written for number of teeth in comb as follows:  14 teeth (12 teeth, 8 teeth)

PATTERN

Hair comb

Row 1: ch 1, 2 (2, 2) sc in between the 1st two teeth, ch 4, sl st to sc you began ch 4 from, 2 sc in between the next 4 (3, 3) teeth, 1 (1, 0) sc in between the next tooth, ch 4, sl st to sc you began ch 4 from, 1 (1, 0) sc in between same tooth, 2 sc in between the next 4 (3, 2)teeth, (for 8 tooth comb go to Row 2 now) ch 4, sl st to sc you began ch 4 from, 2 (2, 0) sc in between last two teeth.

<14 teeth = 26 sc, 3 ch 4 loops>

<12 teeth = 22 sc, 3 ch 4 loops>

<8 teeth = 14 sc, 2 ch 4 loops>

Row 2: Turn, sl st over to ch 4 loop and begin flower (rose instructions below) or add decorative button.

Repeat for all ch 4 loops.Photo 3 Rose Comb


Rose Blossom Pattern

Round 1: ch 1, 12 sc around flower loop, join to FLO of 1st sc with sl st

Round 2: *(ch 4, skip st, sl st to FLO or next st) repeat from * around, sl st to BLO of beginning of round 1 <6 loops>

Round 3: sl st to BLO of next st, *(ch 4, skip st, join with sl st to next st) repeat from * around sl st to 1st ch 4 loop made from Round 1 <6 ch 4 loops>

Round 4: (Begin Petals): *(ch 3, 10 dc, ch 3, sl st to same loop, sl st to next loop) repeat from * around, sl st to 1st ch 4 loop formed on the BLOs of round 3 <6 Petals>

Round 5: *(ch 4, 12 tr, ch 4, sl st to same loop, sl st to next loop) repeat from * around, finish off <6 petals, 12 total in flower>

FINISHING

Add and desired buttons or ribbon flowers, wear, and look beautiful!
