Slouchy Puff free crochet hat pattern

August 20, 2015 By: Lorene

This slouchy puff hat uses the puff stitch in a v-stitch style. It is open and airy making it perfect for summer evenings. The band will fit comfortably around your head but not too tight. It has a soft drape that reaches the nape of your neck giving it a nice puff and slouched style.

NOTES

  • Chs 1, 2 and 3, do not count as stitches. Unless otherwise indicated, always join with a sl st at the top of your sc, hdc, or dc, skipping over the chs 1, 2 or 3. Place your first sc, hdc or dc in same stitch to begin each round. Always place the VSTP in the VSTP of previous row. For final stitch count, count each individual puff st in VSTP as a stitch. Be sure to include the ch2 space in the VSTP as part of your final ch2 space count at the end of each row.
