Recycled Sari Silk Ribbon Bracelet or Anklet
I recently got my huge shipment of Darn Good Yarn to begin designing crochet patterns. I have a ton of ideas in mind but I wanted to start you off with something small that I could post right away. Here is the first Darn Good Yarn pattern I have for you. This one is not crochet but jewelry. I will have lots of crochet patterns coming soon as well as more jewelry tutorials using recycled silk yarns.

Uses up scraps of sari silk ribbon or you can purchase 5yrd mins at $6.99 each. Enough for plenty of bracelets and anklets
some 6/0 beads which you probably already have but can buy for less than $2.00 at Walmart

Notes:
You can make these same bracelets using any ribbon but you won’t get the same finished look as using recycled sari silk ribbon
You only need two strands but you can double them up (4 or more) to make thicker/chunkier bracelets or anklets

Darn Good Yarn also carries great mini packs of reclaimed sari ribbon available in 5yard lengths
small length of tigers tail, embroidery thread, nettle yarn (or any stringing medium)
Instructions:
Cut two pieces of sari ribbon 2x the size of your wrist or ankle
Add 6” to that and cut a piece of embroidery thread, nettle string or tigers tail. Tie one end of tigers tail onto a jewelry faster of your choice. For these bracelets I used up some bar and circle style that I had lying around. (for demonstration purposes I used copper tigers tail and a silver fastener. In real life they would match.
Hold together and tie a knot in the end snug against the jewelry fastener you just secured. Make sure it is extremely secure. Cut short ends, cut the wire short but leave a small amount of ribbon (1/8-1/4”)
String the tigers tail (thread) with 6/0 glass beads the length of your wrist. Tie the last one in a knot to secure in place.
Tape down fastener to a stable surface and braid all the way down to you reach the end of the beads. Tie in place securely (to tie I hold the two pieces of ribbon on one side and the tigers tail in the other, knot once. Then place the tigers tail and one piece of ribbon on one side and the other piece of ribbon on the other side and tie again. Repeat one or two more times until you are positive it is secure, then leaving the tiger tail exposed tie the ends of the ribbon together one more time).
Slide other end of fastener onto the tiger tail and repeat the above securing knots. Cut end of wire short but leave a small amount of ribbon (1/8-1/4”).
You have completed one recycled sari ribbon bracelet. There are so many different color combinations possible.
You can use multiple pieces of ribbon and bead as well.
