 This Lattice Tie Headband is perfect for spring and summer… super easy and quick to work up.  Pattern includes three fastening options.

G hook (4.0mm or 4.25mm/ whichever needed to obtain gauge)
Worsted weight yarn
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
Stitch markers

Sizing
Pattern written to fit 4y-Adult.

Approximate finished measurements (laying flat)
3”W x 15” L(not including ties), ties each measure approx 9” L. Overall length flat: approx 33”

PATTERN

Row 1: Ch63.  Sl st in 2nd ch from hook and in next 4 sts, sc in next 5 sts, hdc in next 5 sts, *ch5, skip next 3 sts, hdc in next st*, repeat from * to * 7 more times, hdc in next 5, sc in next 5, sl st in last 5, ch2, turn piece 180 degrees

Row 2: (You’re now working along back of beginning chain) Sl st in next 5 sts, sc in next 5 sts, hdc in next 5 sts, *ch5, sc in 3 chain space*, repeat from * to * 7 more times, ch5, hdc in next 5 sts of back of beginning chain, sc in next 5, sl st in last 5

Row 3: ch2, turn 180 degrees (working down the other side), sl st in next 5 sts, sc next 5 sts, hdc next 5 sts, *ch5, sc in ch5 space*, repeat from * to * 7 more times, ch5, hdc in next 5 sts, sc in next 5, sl st in last 5

Row 4: ch3, turn 180 degrees (working down the other side), sc next 5, hdc next 4, dc in next 6, *ch3, sc in ch5 space*, repeat
from *-* 8 more times, ch3, dc in next 6 sts, hdc in next 4, sc in next 5, sl st in ch2 sp from beginning of Row 3

Row 5: ch2, turn 180 degrees (working down the other side), sc next 5, hdc next 4, dc in next 6, *ch3, sc in ch5 space*, repeat
from *-* 8 more times, ch3, dc in next 6 sts, hdc in next 4, sc in next 5

Row 6: ch1, turn, sc next 15, *3 scs in ch3 space, sc in next sc*, repeat 8 more times, 3 scs in next ch3 sp, sc in next 15 sts

Row 7:sc in ch2 sp from beginning of R5, turn 180 degrees, sc next 15, *3 scs in ch3 space, sc in next sc*, repeat 8 more times,
3 scs in next ch3 sp, sc in next 15 sts, sc in ch spaces on ends of rows

Row 8: (ties OR skip this row and proceed to ‘alternate way of fastening’)sc in next 69, ch46, sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sc in
next 44chs, sl st at base of chain, sc in next 69, ch46, sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 44chs, sl st in base of chain, fasten off
and weave in ends.

ALTERNATE WAYS OF FASTENING

Elastic Band: After completing R8, sc around whole piece, do not fasten off, crochet around an elastic band/ponytail
holder INSTEAD of ties for children or those who don’t like ‘ties’. Helpful tutorial HERE

Loop/Button: After completing R8, sc around whole piece, do not fasten off, ch24 (21 for child), sl st in 3rd ch from hook (creates the ‘loop’), sl st in remaining ch sts, sl st in base of chain, fasten off and weave in ends. Sew button on opposite end of headband.
