1: The Hummingbird Crochet Cardigan

The Hummingbird Crochet Cardigan by BrianaK Designs is the perfect layering piece for any season! Briana used WeCrochet Heatherly Sport for her cardigan, which is an acrylic/merino wool blend. It would also be wonderful in Juniper Moon Moonshine Fine, which is a sport weight wool, baby alpaca, polyamide, and silk blend. The cardigan is made with simple construction and only 2 seams! You’ll need a G/4.00mm crochet hook as well. You can find the pattern free on her blog, or paid on Etsy, and Ravelry.

2: Desert Cactus Mosaic Blanket

The Desert Cactus Mosaic Blanket is a Boho-style blanket for those who are plagued with wanderlust. The mosaic crochet technique is what is used to create such stunning colorwork. Mosaic crochet is typically alternating colors every other row, rather than changing colors mid row. This means you don’t have to carry your yarn like you would for the tapestry technique. Briana chose Lion Brand Color Theory for her blanket. This yarn is 100% acrylic, which is an excellent choice for blankets because it always washes well! This pattern is free on her blog, and available for purchase from Etsy and Ravelry.

3: Winter Wheat Sweater Scarf

Sweater scarves have been all-the-rage lately! Essentially the are scarves with sleeves! The Winter Wheat Sweater Scarf is done in rows with a simple 4 row repeat. Briana also has several more patterns using the wheat stitch if you want some coordinating pieces! She used Lion Brand Color Theory for this pattern as well, but I think one done in Berroco Vintage would be incredible as well! You can find the pattern free on her blog, and paid on Ravelry.

4: Stash Buster Motif Shawl

The Stash Buster Motif shawl is a gorgeous shawl perfect for using up some of that stash! You can use any weight yarn depending on how big you want your shawl. Briana used Emma’s Yarn Smalliday Set, which is 24 mini skeins in a fingering weight yarn. With that kind of yarn she got a shawl that was 26″ x 80″ after blocking. Find this pattern free on her blog, or paid on Etsy and Ravelry.

5: Amanita Mushroom Hat

The Amanita Mushroom hat uses the split single crochet stitch and the fair isle color work technique. This combo makes the hat look like its knitted! Briana used WeCrochet Swish DK, which is a 100% superwash merino, so this will make up a really nice and warm hat. It is worked by starting with the ribbing so you can make sure it fits! Find the pattern for free on her blog, or paid on Etsy and Ravelry.

6: Journey Under the Sea Bag

The Journey Under the Sea Bag is created with simple stitches from the bottom up. This is another one of BrianaK’s designs that looks knitted, but is actually crocheted. Briana used WeCrochet Dishie Yarn, and I personally love Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton for bags. You’ll need a size H8/5.00mm crochet hook to make this bag. This pattern is available for free on her blog, and paid on Etsy and Ravelry.

7: Classic Granny Stitch Dress

I have this dress in my WIP pile! The Classic Granny Stitch Dress is a take on a dress that went viral after a certain pop star wore a similar one. She chose Caron Blossom Cakes for her dress, which is a cotton/acrylic blend. This pattern is really cool because she does include the free version of the pattern on her blog, but if you purchase the pattern from Etsy or Ravelry she includes an extra sizing guide. The sizing guide is super cool because it includes instructions for using whatever kind of yarn you want. It has calculations for adjusting your gauge and your number of stripes. This one is so worth purchasing in order to get that info!

8: Easy Summer House Crochet Tank

This tank top is crocheted in one piece with simple rows back and forth! She used Kind Feather from Hobbii, which is a 100% acrylic. Another one I love for Summer Tops is Berroco Modern Cotton DK, a cotton and viscose blend. The pattern includes instructions for sizes XS – 5X. The pattern is free on her blog, and paid on Ravelry and Etsy.

9: Sagebrush Lindy Chain Sweater

This lightweight and lacy sweater is the perfect transition piece from Summer to Fall! I love how versatile this top is, it can be dressed up or down for any occasion. Briana used WeCrochet Lindy Chain, which is a fingering weight chainette style yarn that is a mix of linen and pima cotton. I have some Summer Solstice from Juniper Moon picked out to try this sweater in! You will also need an H8/5.00mm crochet hook or whatever size needed to obtain gauge. Find this pattern for free on her blog, or paid on Etsy.

10: Lace Top Crochet Basket

These adorable lace top baskets are so Boho and so fun! What a great way to dress up your plants! These are also good to use as regular baskets and trinket bowls. Can you believe that the 2 baskets featured in the photo above use the same number of stitches? The only difference is the larger basket uses 3 yarns held together and a larger hook! This is another great stash buster project, although a cotton yarn like WeCrochet Dishie or LionBrand 24/7 Cotton would be the best choice. Find this pattern on her blog, or paid on Ravelry.
