Free Crochet Patterns for Quick Gifts:

1. Mixed Loop Hat

The mixed loop hat from Daisy Farm Crafts is a practical, textured beanie that stitches up quick! Sizes included in this free pattern are for preemie to large adult. The yarn specified is Patons Canadiana, which is a 100% acrylic worsted weight yarn. Another great option would be Cascade Yarns Pacific, which is a wool/acrylic blend. You will need 1 skein for children’s sizes and 2 skeins for adults. The size hook recommended is H8/5.00 mm.

2. Chunky Twisted Taryn Earwarmer

The Taryn Earwarmer is a fun accessory to throw on to keep your ears toasty warm on a cold day! Created with the Tunisian simple stitch, this would be a great way to try out the Tunisian technique for the first time. This pattern uses Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick & Quick, which is a bulky weight yarn. This pattern is easy to customize as you can change the width to fit your head the best. You will also need a M13/9mm Tunisian Crochet Hook to complete this fast gift!

3. Chunky Crochet Slippers

The Chunky Crochet Slippers designed by Luisa of Treasurie will keep your loved one’s feet extra toasty! The pattern lists 3 sizes: small, medium, and large; but there are instructions for customizing to your foot size if you so choose. You will need 106 yards of a super bulky weight yarn (size 6) such as Lion Brand Lazy Days. The hook size specified is N13/9.00mm.

4. Brodie the Stegosaurus

Maybe you’ve got some dino-lovers in your life! Brodie the Stegosaurus would be the cutest gift for your dino loving friend! You can make him out of any weight yarn. The smaller dino in the photo above uses sport weight like Circulo Charme and the larger uses super bulky like Ella Rae Cuddle. This pattern also comes with a video tutorial if you prefer to follow along that way.

5. Crochet Cat Bookmark

We all know that one person who loves books and cats more than people! Now there is a bookmark made just for them! This project is beginner-friendly, and you can use up some of your scrap yarn. This pattern is only a video tutorial, no written instructions, but it works up in 30 minutes or less!

6. Mini Crochet Strawberry Bag

Maybe you are more of a gift card giver, but it always seems so impersonal, doesn’t it? What better way to give it a more personal touch than making an adorable little pouch? The mini blossom pouch is the perfect size for a gift card, a pair of earrings, or any itty bitty gift. With this pattern using only single crochet, it would be a great beginner project. You can use your scrap yarn, or Red Heart Super Saver. Another great yarn option would be Premier Basix or Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton.

7. Quick Slouch Hat

Hats are always a winner in the quick gifts category. This quick slouch hat pattern comes with a video tutorial and written instructions for an adult sized hat. The designer used Red Heart Super Saver Chunky, which has since been discontinued. Instead I would recommend Ella Rae Cozy Alpaca Chunky, which is an acrylic/alpaca blend. This yarn is perfect for chunky wearables like this hat! You also need an L11/8mm Crochet hook.

 8. Morning Frost Fingerless Gloves

I love the moss stitch used in these fingerless gloves! It give them such a cute look! The designer chose an aran weight yarn from Millie Colori, but I personally would love to try out Juniper Moon Cumulous Variegated! I love Cumulous for other projects, and would love to try these gloves in it! You will need a size I9/5.5mm crochet hook. The designer describes these as intermediate level gloves.

9. Mini Mug Basket

Another great pattern to use up your scrap yarn! I personally would use Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton if I was making these. This is another fun way to spruce up a gift. Why use a regular basket to contain the goodies when you can make a special basket to hold it all together? Designed by A Crafty Concept, you will have these done in a quick 18 rows!

10. Crochet Market Bag

Lynn from Nourish & Nestle is the designer behind this chic market bag. Going to the beach? Market bag. Going shopping? Market bag. This versatile bag is written for 2 sizes, small and large. You will need either 200 or 250 yards of Lily Sugar N Cream in ecru, or whichever cotton yarn you prefer. Again for this I still like Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton as well. You will also need a size H8/5.00mm hook.

11. Little Pebbles Wash Cloths

Wash cloths make incredible gifts! They are so useful, and the people I have gifted them to have said that they are the best wash cloths they have ever used! That is pretty high praise for something so practical! This pattern is written for 7 different sizes ranging from 4″ – 10″. The designer used Queensland Coastal Cotton for hers and an H8/5mm crochet hook.

12. Crochet Mug Cozy

I LOVE giving these as gifts! Find you a cute dollar tree mug, make one of these, and fill the mug with tea bags, lip balm, a hand lotion, and poof! You’ve got a cute, but thoughtful gift! The designer used Lion Brand Wool Ease, a worsted #4 weight acrylic/wool blend, for her mug cozy, but some other great options would be Berroco Remix for a tweed look, or Premier Basix worsted for a 100% acrylic option.

13. Doughnut Ornament

Homemade ornaments make Christmas trees feel that much more special! This is a free download from Yarnspirations, and the cute little sprinkle beads caught my eye! This pattern calls for Red Heart Super Saver yarn, fiberfil, and seed beads.

14. Boho Bobble Coasters

Sometimes practical gifts are the best gifts! Everyone needs a cute set of coasters. These with the mini fringe are simply adorable! The designer recommends Lily Sugar n Cream, a 100% cotton yarn, and a G+/4.5mm crochet hook.

15. C2C Christmas Placemats

These placemats use the C2C (corner to corner) technique to work up fast! Circulo Charme or Queensland Cotton Fine would be the perfect cotton for this project! The pattern calls for a 3mm crochet hook.

16. Everyday Scarf

Every gift pattern round up needs a good scarf! The texture on this one really takes this simple pattern up a notch! The designer used Lion Brand Heartland Yarn, but my personal favorite right now is Malabrigo Rios, a super soft 100% superwash wool that comes in so many beautiful colors! The standard size for this scarf is 7″ x 68″ (before tassels), but it includes instructions on how to make it whatever size you’d like!

17. Red Gingham Hot Pad

This easy color work hot pad in cherry Christmas red will make a wonderful gift for your friend who loves cooking! Made in a worsted #4 weight 100% cotton like Lily Sugar n Cream, or Nifty Cotton from Cascade Yarns, and a K10.5/6.5mm crochet hook, you will have Christmas covered in no time!

18. 30 Minute Cowl

Did you really wait until the last (30) minutes? No problem with this Cowl! One skein of Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick n Quick and a half hour later, you’ll be done with a super chic Christmas gift for your friend who lives in a cool climate! If you have a whole hour to spare you can make the matching hat too!

19. Faux Fur Headband

Faux fur is so in right now! Lion Brand Yarn has made it easy to jump on this trend with their Go For Faux yarn! You can make so many cute accessories, line cardigans, and more with it, but if you need a Christmas gift fast, this earwarmer is perfect! Don’t forget your L11/8mm crochet hook!

20. Snowman Wine Cozy

This is a fun way to present a hostess with her gift wine! With some worsted #4 weight yarn like Vanna’s Choice, Premier Basix, or Red Heart Super Saver, you can have this little guy whipped up in no time! You can’t forget the little Christmas buttons!
