Big & Chunky Scarves and Cowls Pattern Compilation

August 24, 2016 By: Cre8tion Crochet

It’s still summer, I know, I know…why am I doing a Big & Chunky Scarves and Cowls pattern compilation? Well, while it’s still warm outside, the weather is going to turn chillier and we’ll want an accessory that will keep the chill at bay. The scarves and cowls in this pattern compilation are big and chunky. They are super warm and super big for maximum coverage.

The scarves and cowls in this Big and Chunky pattern compilation will keep you very warm this coming winter. They are also trendy and stylish and will have folks wanting one just like yours.

These Big & Chunky Scarves and Cowl also work up fairly quick and you can use these patterns to get started on presents that are unique and stylish.

4. Big Grey Cloud Cowl by sascha-lovetoknit

This cowl reminded me of a big grey cloud because of it’s texture and colors, so that’s why it’s named this way. It’s a very quick crochet project suitable for beginners because of its easy construction. Pattern is available in both english and dutch. Have fun with it!

5. Great Big Hug Cowl by Knit.Spin.Cake

An oversized cowl which is perfect for beginners as it only uses 2 crochet stitches.
Any bulky/chunky weight yarn can be used and the width is customisable to suit you or the amount of yarn you have.

6. Fiona Button Scarf by Fiber Flux

The Fiona Button Scarf is a lovely piece for both fall and winter and is crocheted lengthwise in a slightly modified granny stripe. Two buttons join it together to create a long loop like an infinity scarf, or wear it unbuttoned for a traditional scarf. Versatile and pretty, lofty and warm! No need to crochet button holes either, just use the decorative holes from the scarf.

7. Herringbone Infinity Scarf by The Purple Poncho

I love the look of color blocking and this herringbone stitch adds so much texture to the scarf. It works up quickly and once you get the rhythm of the stitch, it is one of those patterns that you can make on autopilot.

9. Big Rib Scarf by Moogly

The Big Rib Scarf is made using 2 strands of Worsted or Aran weight yarn held together. For this scarf I used 2 different colorways of Lion Brand Heartland. This created a tweedy jewel toned scarf and I just love the look!

10. Super Chunky Super Warm Scarf by Same DiNamics Crochet

The Super Chunky Super Warm Scarf is just that, super chunky and super warm. When I finished the scarf and tried it on, I felt like as if I was getting the warmest and softest of hugs where I felt comfort. Surprisingly enough, it’s not heavy. This is due to using a bigger hook creating more open stitches that makes the piece more pliable and with more drape.
