Fall CAL Keep Me Warm Cardigan Part Four

YAY we are almost done.  How exciting!  I really hope you have enjoyed this CAL so far.  My aim was to make this design easy enough for a beginner, but fun for a more intermediate crocheter.  My motto here at Cre8tion Crochet is “where beautiful is easy”.  It’s always my goal to create patterns that look amazing, but are not hard to create.  I hope this one fit the bill for you.

REMINDER:  The button placement is moved over (two rows closer to the center) in the instructions below, as I didn’t like the way it looked in the image below.

Now let’s get started with finishing up our CAL.  I cannot wait to see your finished creations.  Be sure to share your designs in the projects section of the Raverly posting for the Keep Me Warm Cardi.

As always, if you have any questions, feel free to tag me in the group, send me a message by Facebook, or email me at [email protected]

HOOD

With RS facing, join yarn at upper right front corner, so you are ready to work a RS row across neck edge.

Row 1 (RS): Ch 3 or CSDC, dc in first st, * dc in each st to marked st, [dc2tog] 6 (6, 6, 8, 8) times (next marked st has now been worked), move markers to the first and last of 6 (6, 6, 8, 8) dc2togs just made; rep from * once more, dc in each st to end – 45 (49, 49, 53, 53) sts.

Row 2: Ch 3 or CSDS, turn, dc in first st, * dc in each st to 6 (6, 6, 8, 8) marked sts, [dc2tog] 3 (3, 3, 4, 4) times, remove markers for this section; rep from * once more, dc in each st to end – 40 (44, 44, 46, 46) sts.

Mark either one of 2 center sts. (center of hood)

Row 3: Ch 3 or CSCD, turn, dc in first st, dc in each st to marker, dc2tog, remove marker, dc in each st to end – 40 (44, 44, 46, 46) sts.

Rows 4-6: Ch 3 or CSDC, turn, dc in first st, dc in each st to last st, 2 dc in last st – 46 (50, 50, 52, 52) sts after Row 6.

Next 14 Rows: Ch 3 or CSDC, turn, dc in first st, dc in each of next 21 (23, 23, 24, 24) sts, dc2tog, dc in each st to end – 46 (50, 50, 52, 52) sts.

Next Row: Ch 3 or CSDC, turn, dc in first st, dc in each of next 20 (22, 22, 23, 23) sts, [dc2tog] twice and mark these 2 dc2togs, dc in each st to end, turn – 45 (49, 49, 51, 51) sts.

Next 2 (2, 2, 4, 4) Rows: Ch 3, dc in first st, dc in each st to 1 st before first marker, [dc2tog] twice and move markers to dc2togs just made, dc in each st to end, turn – 43 (47, 47, 47, 47) sts.

Fasten off.

With WS facing, fold Hood in half, and sew top edge together.  You can use either the mattress st, the whip st or sl st.  I prefer the mattress st, here is a great tutorial by Moogly.
