Hi! This is Kami. Be sure to come join me over on Instagram and say Hi.
I was planning on sharing a cardigan this month but January went by in the blink of an eye. My cardigan sits in my WIP bin still not finished. The rest of February is looking pretty busy with all the extra rehearsals for my son’s school musical. My daughters are also helping out even though they no longer attend that school. Although I am expecting to have my cardigan done in March I probably won’t share until Fall. It is a heavier cardigan and it will be getting pretty warm here by then.
While looking for some alternative ideas I came across this lovely necklace and bracelet set from Oombawka Design. The title “Forever Summer” caught my eye, with the unusually cold winter weather going around who wouldn’t want a taste of summer? Because of the summer heat here I think I’ll pass on the forever part.
When I shared the Granny Pendants last summer, I had bought quite a few beads. First, I found a tan/copper mix that reminded me of sand. Then, I saw blue ones that could represent the ocean. Finally, I grabbed a beading needle and got to work. What better way to say summer than beach themed jewelry?
This really quick project can be done in about an hour. It would make a good Mother’s Day gift for those who love handmade. Or possibly given to a friend who needs some extra TLC.

Material Notes:
Grey thread was used to make it look more like silver jewelry. The shade I chose seems a little too dark for me. Eventually I may end up redoing it in white for a cleaner look.
Thin thread and small beads are used in this pattern. However you could always use bigger beads and yarn for a chunky necklace and bracelet. But you would have to adjust the pattern to accommodate. You can always add extra beads and remove any that you don’t use at the end.
I opted to twist my strands to make a choker length. The pattern also includes an option to make a clasp for the choker. The clasp I used was a twisted barrel clasp that I had in my jewelry supplies.
How Long Does it Take to Crochet a Necklace and Bracelet Set:
Most people should be able to complete this in less than an hour. The more familiar you are with the techniques the quicker it will come together. Familiarity with threading beads on a string and working with thin thread are helpful.
Measurements:
Necklace is approximately 21 inches after being folded and twisted.
Bracelet is approximately 7 inches after being folded and twisted.
Gauge:
4 pattern repeats = 2 inches. A pattern repeat consists of 2 beads and 3 chains.
Pattern Notes:
This project is pretty simple and straightforward and the results are definitely gift worthy. These types of patterns are usually easiest to adapt to your preferences. It is an easy repeat and on the second row you have the beads to guide your stitch placement. This makes it a great option for those Netflix and chill days. For future set jewelry making I’ll definitely come back to this one.
