First up we have the free pattern for the Hexagon Cover Up by Briana K Designs. Briana is a Florida-based designer who is extra creative! I have tested for her and done some of her other patterns and she is really unique in the stitch techniques she uses. She is also known for her stunning colorwork. The Hexagon Cover up is obviously originally designed to wear over a swimsuit, but it would work as a dress as well! You will need a size F/3.75mm hook. Briana used WeCrochet Comfy Fingering yarn, which is a Pima cotton and acrylic blend. The pattern is written for sizes XS – 5X and you will need between 1400 – 3700 yards of yarn. If you would prefer an ad-free version of the pattern it is available on her Ravelry.

#2: Golden Hour Sundress by Kaitlin Barthold

The free pattern for the Golden Hour Sundress by Kaitlin Barthold of Originally Lovely caught my eye! In her words, “The Golden Hour Sundress evokes feelings of bright summer sunsets and floral blooms.” Kaitlin used Lion Brand 24/7 cotton, a worsted weight 100% cotton. This dress is designed for sizes XS – 5X and will need between 1302 – 2418 yards. She used a G/4.00mm hook. If you would prefer an ad-free version of the pattern it is available on her Ravelry.

#3: Rainbow of Dreams Dress by Journey Chanel Designs

This paid pattern for the Rainbow of Dreams Dress by Anastasia Smith of Journey Chanel Designs just screams Summer! This pattern can be a top or a dress, and has 2 strap options available! Anastasia chose Lion Brand Coboo, which is an awesome DK weight yarn! It has an excellent drape, but holds up well since it is a cotton blend. The pattern is written for sizes XS – 5X and up. You will need between 600 – 2600 yards depending on size, and an F/3.75mm hook.

#4: La Belle Dress by Alanna Miall

Alanna Miall

The La Belle dress is just as cute as a button! This paid pattern is available on Ravelry. Alanna Miall is a fun designer who has a lot of dress patterns, so if dresses are your thing you need to give her a follow on her Instagram. This dress uses Hobbii Rainbow Cotton 8/4, which is a fingering weight 100% cotton so it is perfect for warmer weather. It comes in a ton of colors. She used a 3.00mm hook, but this pattern is made to measure so it is super flexible and size inclusive. Alanna used roughly 1600 meters of yarn for her sample dress, which is size small.

#5: Sea Breeze Cover Up by Katerina Designs

The free pattern for the Sea Breeze Cover Up is available on Katerina’s blog. This is a simple dress or cover up that is constructed top-down and is written for sizes XS – 5X without any positive or negative ease. She chose Hobbii Azalea, which is a cotton blend sport weight yarn in an Ombre cake. You will need between 800-1400 yards and a size E/3.5mm hook. You can find more of her designs on Instagram, and if you want to purchase the PDF of the Seabreeze Cover Up you can do so on Ravelry.

#6: The Snapdragon Dress

Daisy and Dime

The Snapdragon Dress has been on my to do list since the pattern came out! I absolutely love how feminine-looking this dress is. This pattern by Rebecca of Daisy and Dime is made to measure and she states you can use any yarn of your choosing, but she used a DK and a G/4.00mm hook. It is worked in one piece so there is no seaming required, can I get a “hallelujah”?!

#7: The Summer Dress by Wannipa Yunker

Winnipa Yunker
Winnipa Yunker

This free pattern is literally called Summer Dress so I had to include it in this roundup! It is available for free on Winnipa’s blog or you can purchase an ad-free PDF on Ravelry. She used a fingering weight yarn from WeCrochet called Lindy Chain. It comes in sizes XS – 2XL and you need between 980 – 1430 yards. She used both a 3mm and 4mm hook. The dress is worked in one piece from the top down and the straps are added on last.

#8: The Partridgeberry Dress & Top by Jillian Gall

The texture on the Partridgeberry Dress is to die for! I have made a few patterns by Jillian and they are simply incredible! I have never seen so much thought and time go into patterns like Jillian puts into hers. Make sure you are following her on Instagram because she is amazing. She used Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton DK for this dress. Her patterns are made to measure so you can make whatever size you want. She used hooks D/3.25mm, E/3.5mm, and F/3.75mm.

#9: Lovely Little Lace Dress by Stephanie Erin

If you are looking for something for date night then look no further than the Lovely Little Lace Dress by Stephanie Erin. This paid pattern is available on Ravelry. She used a fingering weight from Winnie Jo Fiber Co to make her sample dress and a size D/3.25mm hook. It is written for 9 different sizes ranging up to a 62″ bust, and is written for 1″ of negative ease. 1550 – 3400 yards is called for.

#10: Cache Coeur Dress

Knitting with Chopsticks

The Cache Coeur Dress looks so chic, but so comfy at the same time! I love the little tassel detail on the belt. This free pattern from Knitting with Chopsticks is written for sizes XS – 5X, but is very forgiving since it is so loose. The yarn specified is Lion Brand Coboo to achieve the lightest feel as possible, while giving a nice drape to the garment. The dress is made of 2 rectangles which are then sewn together – therefore very beginner friendly! You can purchase the ad-free PDF on Ravelry.

I hope you enjoyed this pattern round up of 10 crocheted summer dresses! Please leave a comment below letting me know which dress pattern you are going to make first!
