It seems like everyone is experiencing heat waves this summer. In this case the best thing to do is stay in and crochet. However you don’t want a heavy project weighing you down. Small quick projects are best for summer heat. Think washcloths, small bags and earrings. Or you could just make this Boho Beaded Cuff Bracelet like I did.
You just need a few beads, some yarn and about a half an hour to crochet this bracelet. Single crochet and chain stitches are all you need to know. Therefore this is a very beginner friendly project. Because they work up so quickly they would also be a good addition to markets. Or possibly a last minute gift.
If you’re looking for other quick summer makes, try some earrings. Alternatively, you may prefer coasters. Sunglasses cases would definitely be useful this time of year as well. Possibly this Through the Window Crossbody Bag. There are endless options, you don’t have to quit crochet when it’s hot.
What Materials Do You Need to Crochet a Boho Beaded Cuff Bracelet?
- 10 yards worsted weight cotton yarn – I used Lion Brand Cotton Bamboo in Magnolia
- C2/2.5 mm Crochet Hook – We love using Clover Amour Ergonomic Hooks!
- 18 Wooden Beads (8 mm) – This is a great option with a lot of color options!
- Bead Needle
- Scissors

Material Notes:
I didn’t have the exact materials on hand for this project. That said, I did have some similar items. It is always a good idea to use what you have rather than buying more. Adjustments may be necessary if you use different materials. Most importantly the holes in the beads need to be large enough for your chosen yarn. See my adaptations in the Pattern Notes below. The designer used Lion Brand Bonbons – Nature in the color Tan for the original design, which is a 100% cotton, sport-weight (weight 2) yarn. I used Lion Brand Cotton Bamboo in the color Magnolia, which is a 52% Cotton, 48% Rayon from Bamboo blend that is a weight 3 yarn. Some other good yarn alternatives include Knit Picks Comfy Sport, Queensland Coastal Cotton Fine Yarn, and Circulo Natural.
You will need approximately 18 wooden beads in an 8 mm size for this project. You can find a lot of great choices for beads at your local craft supply store, or search on Amazon. In addition to the beads, it will be helpful to have a bead needle to put the beads onto the yarn.
How Long Does it Take to Crochet a Boho Beaded Cuff Bracelet?
This bracelet comes together quickly. I’m not sure exactly how long it took, but I know that it was less than 30 minutes. Probably between 15 and 20 minutes would be more accurate.
What Size is a Boho Beaded Cuff Bracelet?
I used the instructions for a large bracelet with my materials. My bracelet is about 7 inches in diameter. I am able to slide it on and off my wrist, but it isn’t too loose when I am wearing it.
Gauge:
My bracelet measures about 3 beads in 1 inch. This is a measurement of bead one to bead three. It includes the crochet part in between, but not before bead one and not after bead three.
All About Making the Boho Beaded Cuff Bracelet:
I had to adjust a few things to make this pattern work with my chosen materials. First I didn’t use the same size beads or the same size yarn. So I made the bracelet following the large instructions for a smaller item. I didn’t do any calculations here- I just hoped for the best. Overall I think I could have added an additional bead but it worked out fine. There is a small gap where I tied the knot so that it would still slide on and off. Additionally because my yarn was a little bigger, the holes in my beads weren’t big enough to thread the chains through as in the pattern. Therefore I chose to skip that part, I just slid the bead up. However I did have to chain one after each single crochet to keep the bracelet even.
The Boho Beaded Cuff Bracelet was super easy and fun to make! I can see more experimentation in my future.
